RIGHT FLEXED LEG
As you are doing your backswing, make sure the right leg stays flexed. By doing so, it will help you to be more consistent with your shots, as shown in the image above.
This shows the right leg straightening during the backswing.
This can cause numerous problems ranging from poor weight transfer to lifting your body causing the player to top the ball, hitting to the right of target or simply missing the ball all together, as shown in the image above.
Easily corrected:
This is a common problem that can easily be corrected. By doing this correction, as demonstrated in the image above, it will help you to be more consistent with your swing and with your shots

Shoulder turn:
Should you improve your shoulder turn to promote a better golf swing?
YES, the shoulder turn will help you to increase your backswing, therefore, giving you the possibility for more distance, as shown in the image above.
Straight left arm drill:
How can I keep my left arm straight during the backswing? The muscles in your back may not be stretched enough to create the bigger arc that you need in order to play to your full potential. If this is the case, practice this exercise many times a day for a few weeks. The stretching of the muscles in your back will enable you to keep that left arm straighter, therefore, maintaining the radius of your swing.
Practice the straight left arm drill by placing your right hand behind the left arm. Pull the arm across the body causing the shoulder to turn, therefore, creating a stretch in the upper left side of the body, as shown in the image above.
This will also help the left arm to remain extended during the backswing.
Keep this position for a few seconds or longer and repeat as often as possible until you no longer bend your elbow while doing your backswing (muscle memory).
